Based on the settings approach of the World Health Organisation WHO and its key elements of participation, empowerment, sustainability and networking a representative sample of good-practice examples within the ENETOSH database was analysed. The study facilitates access to good practice examples and recommends future action for practitioners, disseminators and decision makers. Students will receive an overview of British literature from early Anglo-Saxon to Modern. Literary study will be infused with historical applications for a better understanding of the social and historical context of the readings.
Literary terms and elements of poetry will be discussed throughout this course. The study of grammar and mechanics of writing will continue with a focus on reviewing concepts and avoiding common errors. Students will further improve their writing through the study of problem areas as well as regular use of response journals.
Spelling and Vocabulary will largely come from literary terminology, but will also include the study of root words and affixes in preparation for college entrance examinations.
Additionally, SAT prep will be included as part of this course. Writing assignments will include Responses to Literature journal entries for each work read, a literary and narrative essay of words in length, a research paper of pages, and a final literary analysis paper of pages.
Students will have unit tests at the end of each unit. The final exam will not be cumulative. Refer to this often as you work through the course. You will have vocabulary quizzes throughout the course and vocabulary words will appear on your unit tests.
You will be identifying the significance of terms over the course of several related lessons.
